What is correct?

Friends,

Have you noticed how many people expect their wrong decisions to be ‘OK?’

Girl driving beside loses control of her car and almost hits me. She regains control, and she begins to text again.

How many times has that happened to you?

Moral relativism, is the bigger theological and philosophical term used by many people to take right and wrong of the table.

When you ask about a problem, they change the subject to another ‘problem.’

Here is an example discussion, “Wayne, why are you worried about adultery, why don’t you care about divorce?”

Do you see the fancy rhetorical ploy used so often. Distract from a problem by using a different problem. Then say the problem is not a problem, the other problem is the problem.

So, now two wrongs are supposed to give us a ‘correct?’

Or another example, “Don’t worry about all the violence, it won’t hurt you. But, the starving children in Africa are your problem.”

The children do not have an affect upon me, nor do they have an affect upon the violence here.

[Yes, some say there is a connection, but that connection is purely spiritual.]

You will notice the bad logic used to distract and shift the focus.

It happens all the time.

If you read my comments on this blog, you will see it happens more often than it should.

Why?

I really don’t know.

I would think that logic would lead someone to truth, and that truth would lead to the Truth.

But, I know from experience, that does not happen. I do know that what we see HAPPEN, is verified in the Bible. Jesus told us that people can only come to Him when they are called.

Logic would tell me that people should move towards correctness, because right is better than wrong. Yes, the ‘relativists’ will ask, but what if you are in the middle of a war and you have to kill someone to save someone else.

Again, distraction.

Well, I think right is always right. And I think wrong is always wrong.

Isn’t it easier that way?

I think it is easier. For me, I don’t have to remember which story is which. I don’t have to remember what I told to who ….

I am just not smart enough to remember all that other stuff.

How about you?

Which is easier for you? Right and wrong? Or, it depends?
