The longer this goes on, the less respect I have for Putin.
This morning, Ukrainian time, Russia assaulted a Ukrainian Marine base and took control.
During a pre-dawn raid, using grenades and small arms fire, the Russians quickly overran the small garrison.
60 to 80 Marines were taken hostage by the Russians. The commander of the unit was taken and has now disappeared.
So much for a non-violent coup.
Why is Russia doing this to their most traditional ally? If anyone is owed more land, it would be the Kievan Rus that is owed land, not the Moscow upstart.
