Talking about Climate with John Christy

Friends,

A climatologist debunks the excitement about Global Warming.

I think you realize by now, I am sceptical of AGW. That does not mean that Global Warming has not happened, and it does not mean that man has not caused it.

But, it does mean that the science we have is not predict models which are verified by nature. Our models keep failing to predict the weather. And until we can over come that failure, I agree with this scientist, we should be careful basing our politics and our laws upon ‘global warming.’

What do you think?

John Christy is a climate scientist at the University of Alabama-Huntsville. Along with Roy Spencer, he developed  the first satellite temperature record of the Earth. Skeptical about catastrophic anthropogenic global warming, he has been invited to speak before Congress several times.  He is the director of the Earth System Science Center at UAH.

TATW: What would be the single piece of information that you would convey to people who have strong opinions about climate and little knowledge?

Soda sequestration from xkcd. Helps us to better understand Christy’s comments in context to what we know.

    • Wayne says:

Actually, Christy made his comments clearly and need no help.

Until our ‘science’ can produce models that work, we are not using the right science.

    Weather is not climate.
