Russia is sending re-enforcements into areas around their bases in Crimea. Crimea is a diamond shaped peninsula that looks like a big island. Russia has maintained naval forces there for a couple of hundred years.
Russia claims there are threats to the safety of Russian military and civilians in Crimea. Crimea is also a semi-autonomous Republic. And Crimean leaders have asked Russia for help.
This is beginning to sound like what happened in the Republic of Georgia all over again.
Unfortunately, the Government of Ukraine in Kiev is against the Russian move. And this will raise tensions in the region.
Pray for me as I try to contact Senators and help with the situation. Whenever I contact politicians, my accounts get shutdown …. so much for our ‘democracy.’
